I know you got a killer deal on that lease but its not that fast and baby blue is not an intimidating color. Would it have been safer to let them go? Absolutely. Did I? Nah.

Doing this from the middle lane is debatable, but not 2 lanes over.

Also the car between us at the light was a Town & Country, fucking Detroit. 3 Chrysler cars on Chrysler Drive?! I need to not own a Chrysler soon.

Looks like they wouldn’t have much distance to get ahead of a car in the left lane anyway. We have a similar intersection/on ramp in my town and people frequently cut into the on ramp lane from the straight lane after the light because they don’t want to wait in line.

Options I can see here:

-Third lane with the second lane empty (even this is stupid).

-Second lane (this I consider reasonable, I might do it myself if you were proven or expected to be slow).

But from the third lane, with an occupied middle lane, in a 200, against a T&C (which is actually pretty f*cking fast) and a Crossfire, in that distance... If you’re that kind of a moron, you’re not getting in front of me if I can prevent it. Racing them was the right call :)

Problem with the T&C is that when you lay your foot down, it executes a lane change all by itself (to the right, IIRC). That's the only time my wife has ever noticed — and been terrified by — torque steer.

Yea I do the second lane when the car looks slow or is a box truck. So I’m not perfect either but I get off the light quick and speed on the highway.

But ha thanks for supporting my call. I always take off from that light quick if I’m in front because of the line of cars behind, and the 200 could of easily got behind me at any point. So in the moment I had a very “fuck off” response.

Yeah I think there are times that it’s warranted. Lord knows I’ve done it. The line for the on ramp lane can get backed up about a quarter of a mile or more at 5:30 p.m. and plenty of people are checking out their phones while they wait. It’s not that unusual to catch a gap.

However it’s not that unusual for them to just force their way in, and when the line is puttering along at 20 mph because the idiot at the front doesn’t understand how on ramps work, that can be extremely annoying when you’re just trying to get home. Is it too much to ask people to be as patient as the rest of us?

Here is an entrance ramp near me that I use several times a week that is always under constant attack.

The right lane (red) is usually backed up pretty far because that ramp leads to a major parkway. The left (blue) lane is also full and consists of 20% that want to go straight, and 80% that also want the ramp. Some of the blue cars have successfully merged before the turn lane opens, but only the boldest, bravest pilots remain - and they wait until the yellow section.

That section is the battle zone. If I can fend off at least one of the remaining Kamikazes and cause them to make another pass (as shown below), I have successfully defended our ramp.

Was the appearance the problem, though? People on here had a really positive response to the Pacifica reveal. I think it was fairly positive with the 200 also. The Dart is another good looking car that sold like shit. I think the problem is that these just aren’t good cars.

In those segments though, I think “meh” is what you’d want. I think the 200 is one of the better looking, simply for the fact that it’s not ugly. Not the best, but far from the worst. As for the Town and country, it certainly looks better than the one that it’s replacing. I was never a fan of the squared styling of the current generation.

I’ve always been meh on the 200.

IMHO the Fusion’s nice looks are only less special now because I see so many. I still think “Oo thats nice” when I see a Mazda 6 and don’t even notice when I see a 200.

I also really like the Dart and think the Pacifica will see no matter what because it has apps to distract the kids.

I hate that people (assbags) can’t just be civilized and get in the proper lane. I have to deal with something similar every day. What makes it so much worse too is that there is a gas station probably a 100 yards before the on ramp making it an even bigger cluster-f.

I had some guy the other day that wasn’t going to take missing the exit as an option, so he literally ran me off the road. I would have stood my ground and let him hit my car, but it was my wifes car and that was truly the battle I didn’t want to lose (because losing is inevitable there).
